Googles funny!
Google has a great sense of humor!
Ya gotta hand it to Google to name their recent update to their search engine "Caffeine"!
As if if web designers, coders, and IT professionals didn't drink enough of the stuff, one of our leading inspirations for all that we do on the internet has to unveil a major update to their algorithm and indexing system and call it Caffeine.
I'm assuming this means boost, as in speed.
If you haven't discovered Googles official blog by now, your missing out. Here is a great article discussing the Caffeine update.
My understanding is that Google geared this update towards what is being called,' the real time web'. The real time web is based upon the speed at which unique content is hitting the internet from many different areas of the globe simultaneously. This is because people all over with similar interests such as world cup soccer are tweeting, blogging, and face booking at incredible speed and in ever increasing numbers. This "real time web" is the rapidly emerging information layer that Google wants to stay on top of. This real time web conversation is reaching a planetary scale thanks to powerful language translation software.
